This model represents the articulated city bus O305G from the early 1980s. The bus is fitted with the optional StÜLB frontend, which was originally designed for the closely related interburban bus O307. It gives the bus a more appealing appearance which is why some operators preferred this version over the standard VÖV frontend.

The O305G was the first pusher bus in production, a technical milestone for this type of vehicle at its unveiling in 1977. As opposed to the then common articulated buses the engine and driving axle were both at the rear of the bus, which allowed for a lower floor height over almost the full length. The articulation angle control ensured safe road handling by keeping the bus straight in slippery road conditions and avoiding jack-knifing in bends.
