Vehicles of the second generation of the MAN NL202 were not procured by the BVG, but by several private bus companies in Berlin, which provided transport services on behalf of the BVG from 1992 onwards. These cars were grouped into the 8000 range. The BVG itself procured only in 1996 again MAN monoplane in the form of the advanced NL262 with Euro II engine.
