The MAN SD 202 is the immediate successor of the SD 200 and was delivered between 1982 and 1992 in 468 copies to the BVG.
After the operational experience with the three prototypes tested since 1982 and 1983, the first 70-car D86 series was put into service in 1986. Technically, these buses largely correspond to the predecessor series SD85, in which the same drive components were already used. Due to the modified exhaust system, the sound of the now 150 kW D2566UH machine on the SD202, however, sounds much more bassy.
